This Sunday we will be following a different schedule than usual. Worship will be at 9:00 a.m. Pastor will be speaking from Mark 1:14-20.

Brunch will begin following the service and feature the menu below.

At 11:00 Dr. Gary Young will lead us in the first session of our Spiritual Life Conference. There will be a 12:30 break for refreshments, and the second session will begin at 12:50.

The annual meeting will be next Sunday at about 11:15. There will be a pizza lunch served in Madden Hall for free after the service. We have increased the order from last year. Copies of the annual report are in your mailbox. Take them home and read them. Find out what’s going on around here.

This week A2J will meet at 10:45 am in the 7th/8th grade classroom to create a care package for Craig Thomas stationed in Afghanistan.  Following, we will meet in the Sr. high classroom for bible study and finish at 12:00 p.m.

A2J will host a Family Game Night on Saturday, January 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Madden Hall as a fundraiser.  A pot luck dinner will be provided and served by A2J youth followed by good old fashion fun playing board and card games.  Suggested donation for the evening is $5.00.  Join A2J for a fun filled evening.

A2J will host a Family Movie Night on Friday, January 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Madden Hall as a fundraiser.  The Veggie Tales movie The Christmas Star about the Epiphany will be shown and popcorn as well as movie candy will served.  Wear your pajamas and bring a sleeping bag or blanket to sit.  Suggested donation for the evening is $5.00.  Mark your calendar and plan for a fun filled evening.

A2J youth are sending a care package to Lance Corporal Craig Thomas stationed in Afghanistan.  Youth are to bring an item(s) for the package on Sunday, January 22.  The youth will also write Craig letters.  If anyone in the congregation would like to include a letter/note or candy/snack item in the package, please bring it Sunday, January 22.  Please visit http://adoptaplatoon.org/site/ and select the Care Package Idea link under the Helpful Info tab on the left hand side of the screen for a list of ideas to include in a package as well as a note about what cannot be sent.

A2J along with Lions and Lambs are co-sponsoring Pennies for Pins a fundraising event to support the AC Rescue Mission on Sunday, February 12th at 11:30 am.  Tickets and lane sign up begins next Sunday, January 29th.  Pre-purchased tickets are required for $10 and include bowling, shoe rental as well as lunch of pizza and soda.  All are invited and encouraged to attend.

Tickets for the Men’s Fellowship Valentine’s dinner go on sale Sunday for $10.00 each. The event will take place on February 11 at 6:00 p.m. There is a choice of steak or chicken. Entertainment will be by Bruce and Sherry Townsend. (Singles are welcome, too.)

The Monday afternoon Bible study will begin a new study on the book of Titus. Come join us to study a book you probably know little about.

Attention Sunday School Families: Offerings received in Sunday School envelopes should have a first and last name on them in order to receive family credit.

The Fellowship Committee’s soup sale will be Sunday, Jan. 29, in Madden Hall. Stop by their table before service and during lunch to make your purchases.

Tickets are now on sale for the March 3 bus trip to Longwood Gardens. Cost is $45 adults/$35 children 12 and under. See Dawn Duran or Scott Sabo. Additional information will be in your February Good News.

The Zumba fundraiser has been moved to Saturday, Feb. 25, from 3-4 p.m.
