We still need to hear from many of you about your financial intentions for 2012. Please fill in the card and place it in the silver box or offering plate. Additional cards are in the pew rack if you forgot yours.

The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tags

Our Mission Committee is sponsoring the Angel Tree project again this year. The tree will be loaded with tags waiting for you to choose one. Each tag represents a needy child's wish for a toy or game. Clothing sizes are also included.

Your help enables The Salvation Army to provide gifts to hundreds of children, making their holiday special and memorable.

Simply take a tag, shop for toys, games, and/or clothing. Wrap the gift and SECURELY attach the tag to the gift. All gifts must be returned by Dec. 11. The gifts will be taken to the Salvation Army on Dec. 14.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity on behalf of the many children you will help this Christmas.

A new Advent Study entitled “The Journey” by Adam Hamilton will begin this Sunday. Meet in the lounge at 6:30 with the Revs. Cobb and Reedell. There will be a video presentation followed by a discussion.

Next week will be very busy in our church and we need you to help. Decorations include three Christmas trees, indoor and outdoor lights, the manger box, different displays, etc. We hope to make our newly renovated lounge look really great. All Christmas decorations are put up by church volunteers. (No, we don’t hire anyone.) Please help. We start Monday and go all week.

The sacrament of communion will be observed December 4 at 9:00 and 10:30. The bell choir will also play. Guest organist, Christine Fellows, will be at the organ console at the 9:00 service.

The mailbox system will be in place by Sunday, Dec. 4. Use them to exchange cards, etc., and to pick up your offering envelopes and Church Directory for 2012.

Church cookbooks are still available for $10 each. If you’re running out of gift ideas for Christmas, be sure to pick up a couple. What better way to share those great “tried and true” recipes!
